First Session: Watercolour Using the Mother Method

Class fee: $45 per class or $135 for 3 classes

In the first class we will be exploring watercolour mixing using the Mother Method.

Some watercolour experience is preferred. This is a step by step instructional class covering do’s and don’ts, a review of colour mixing and moving into colour mixing using the Mother Method.

We will also be doing a watercolour exercise to experience entering into the Flow state, important for nervous system support and regulation. Email bec.girouard@gmail.com

Requirements for course:

• Canson XL or Arches Wire bound Watercolour journal 140lb.  Cold Press 7” x 10” OR Strathmore Visual Journal Wire bound Watercolour 140lb Cold Press 5.5” x 8” OR a Watercolour journal that will absolutely lay flat 140lb Cold Press in approximately the sizes stated above.
• Your favorite watercolour brush with a good point. Mine is a Yasutomo Fusion #3 round for this type of work. I also use a Black Velvet round #8 by Silver.
• A basic good quality Watercolour Paint palette plus Burnt Sienna. Tubes of paint are best for this class. If you only have pans, we can make that work. 
• If you have the 5 well ceramic watercolour palette trays, you’ll need two. If you don’t, you will be provided with them in class. If you care to purchase a ceramic palette set they will be available at cost. ($25)
• A 3H or 4H pencil, a white plastic eraser (Staedler) and a ruler

These items will be provided for you: water/rinse container, mini spray bottle, and ceramic palette.
