About Gary O'Connor
Gary O’Connor was born and raised in Victoria BC. He is an artist, illustrator, writer, song writer and movie encyclopedia. Gary also has a keen interest in history and is an animal lover who is involved with rescues of both domestic and wild animals.
Gary has been doing art all of life, ever since kindergarten when one of his paintings went to the art gallery for a show. A few of his creations made it onto tv and he had a spaceship at Expo '86.
In the early 2000s brain damage sent him back to the dark ages and he had to relearn reading, writing, painting, guitar playing and many other things from scratch. What was once easy was almost completely gone. But in recent years, Gary's been getting it all back and doing some of his best work.

GARY O'CONNOR INSPIRATION
Describe your creative process and how you go about starting and completing a finished piece.
I usually just have an idea and go with it. Sometimes it works out like I planned and is done very quickly, and some end up on shelves for years until the idea hits me on how to finish it. I work in all mediums from drawing and painting, illustrations and book covers, model making and miniatures, filming, music and writing.
What are you most inspired by and how is this reflected in your work?
My inspirations vary from animals, like my friend's hawk to science fiction movie and tv shows. When it hits me I just start sketching.
