Jennie Levesque
is a free-spirited artist and self-taught creator whose journey into art has been deeply personal and transformative. Exploring a wide variety of mediums, she finds joy in crafting with organic, upcycled, and recycled materials, seeing beauty in the forgotten and discarded. Jennie’s practice also embraces the warmth of fibre arts, from whimsical needle-felted creatures to textured storytelling pieces. For her, each creation is a meditative process, a way to connect with nature, imagination, and the quiet magic of everyday life.

Zentangle CLASS FULL

Beginner Watercolour CLASS FULL

This beginner-friendly watercolour class is a relaxed and welcoming introduction to one of the most expressive painting mediums. We’ll explore the basics of watercolour step by step—learning about materials, simple brush techniques, colour mixing, and how water and pigment work together to create soft washes and beautiful effects. No prior experience is needed; the focus is on building confidence, experimenting, and enjoying the process rather than striving for perfection. By the end of the class, you’ll have a better understanding of the fundamentals and a finished piece to take home, along with the inspiration to keep painting.
The watercolour you will be painting (waterfall) covers many different watercolor techniques and very good for beginners.
1.Color and value perspective to create 3 dimensional shapes. Learning negative painting to preserve lights.
2.Uses of different properties, such as transparent, Semi-
transparent, Opaque, and granular.
3.Determining wetness of paper to facilitate scratching to leave a
lighter line or a darker line. Ie: tree trunks or bricks.
4.When to paint wet into wet and which colors blend with another
or colors that push away others.
5.When to use staining or non-staining colors.
6.Uses of salt or other texture makers
7.Using hot press or cold press paper.

Acrylics Tips and Tricks

Learn to transfer any image using the grid method for accuracy. Create an underpainting to establish values and then explore how to glaze on top to represent the colours in your image.
Bring your favourite reference, in digital format and a device to access the internet.

Monotype Printmaking on a Gel Plate

This beginner-friendly class is a fun introduction to the world of monotype printing using a gel plate. If you’ve ever wanted to try gel printing but didn’t want to invest in a plate without knowing you’d like it or if you have a plate (or 2!) and just don’t know what to do with it, this class is for you.
We’ll embrace the unpredictability of this print method, exploring different types of paint, papers and texture tools. We’ll even make some texture tools in the class. The focus is on exploration and experimentation and at the end of the class you’ll have some unique papers for collage, card making or whatever your creative imagination comes up with.
No prior experience is necessary, and all tools and materials will be provided. If you do have your own plate, feel free to bring it.

Discover the magic of fiber art in this beginner-friendly project! Learn the relaxing art of needle felting while creating an adorable Easter bunny. All materials provided to help you shape your little felted friend. For Jennie, each creation is a meditative process, a way to connect with nature, imagination, and the quiet magic of everyday life.

Beginner Pastels
with Rebecca Girouard, Visual Artist: Pastel, Watercolour, Acrylic

Space limited to 6. (Class Fee: $30)
This class will introduce you to the various types of pastels and surfaces available to us. You will have hands-on experience with mark making and create your own samples for reference. During the second half of this class, you will be guided in the steps to creating a small pastel painting of your own, using a simple landscape photo for reference.
***Please bring a printed 5" x 7" copy of a simple landscape to work from and a 12" ruler. You will be provided with the rest of the materials in class.

Intermediate Pastels

Space limited to 6. (Class Fee: $30)
This class is open to those who have taken the Intro to Pastels Class and those who have experience in working with soft pastels.
I will be providing the same image to each of you to work up in class.
We will be exploring two different applications in creating the image.
If you have a set of soft pastels, please bring them. (basic palette colours).
You will be provided with the rest of the materials in class.
****Please bring a 12" ruler and an Ochre pastel pencil.
