From Inside Out - a Mandala Art Experience

with Leina Wann

1pm to 4pm, Sunday, Jan 18th

(Class Fee: $30)

We will explore and experience first of all, allowing ourselves to calm and relax and be present. As we do the suggested exercises we let creativity flow through with ease. We will do several timed drawings using pastels on paper, then expand into creating a personal mandala of your own.

About Leina Wann  "I have been curious with the question I often ask myself after completing a piece of artwork or a poem, "Did I really do that?" Finally, I had to tune in and find out and a whole new world of possibilities unfolded. With devotion, I've come to appreciate and embrace my life and creativity in whichever form it appears and say, "I love it. It's perfect. And because I love it, someone out there will love it too." This good news spreads through my teachings."

About Lynda Slater:  I have always enthralled with textiles all my life. Spinning, weaving, sewing and dyeing have all been explored. The last 40 years, dyeing has been top of the list.  Over the years I have had the good fortune to study different dyes, techniques and fibres in various places: Italy , Bali, Java,USA and Canada. I dyed thousands of kilos of silk for Treenway Silks and when the company was sold and moved to the USA, I found other ways to use my dye skills. Some of my dyed silks were used to make a sash for the Queen so somewhere in the bowels of Buckingham palace are silks dyed in Sooke. Wet felting and Nuno felting are fun techniques to learn as there are no mistakes!
