The Sooke Arts Council is sponsoring a creative fundraising initiative where members donate their artistic talents to transform everyday home décor items into one-of-a-kind fine art pieces. Join us in upcycling small furniture, home accents, and other décor items while raising funds to support arts programming in our community.
Fundraiser & Contest Details
- All decor items will be supplied on a first-come, first choice basis. See timeline below.
- There will be 3 awards given to the top 3 Most Creative Transformations. Prizes to be announced.
- Voting will be done by the Sooke community and take place online and in our gallery during the public display phase Dec 3rd to 15th.
Artist Timeline
- Now until September 23 – Artist sign-up deadline (online registration form)
- September 27–28 – Item pairing at SAC (first-come, first-choice basis). Items may be picked up that weekend. Before photos will be taken of each item prior to distribution.
- November 30 – Deadline for submission of completed upcycled art pieces. After photos are uploaded along with an Artist Statement.
- December 3–14 – Public display of all finished works at the SAC Studio and auction site for community viewing and voting
- December 14–15 – Online auction via 32Auctions.
- By December 21 – Pick-up deadline for all winning bids.
