Deb van Hattem-Koff

Deborah van Hattem-koff is an illustrator, fine artist, muralist and art instructor residing on a magical place called vancouver island. She has been drawing since the age of 4 and sold her first commissioned portrait at the age of 11. Her inspiration comes from the beauty of nature and wildlife, the universe, traveling and love. Part of her inspiration comes from an unforgetable, life changing experience she had while surviving on a deserted island in malaysia for 43 days far away from home. Landscapes and Mermaids are one of her favorite subjects to paint.


Deb is also a free-lance illustrator and art instuctor. She also organises paint classes for adults as well as paint classes and creative art parties for kids. She loves taking on comissioned art work projects as well as murals for businesses or private customers. Also she works as an art instructor for youth fine arts organisation amber academy in Sooke, BC


Since May 2022, she has been teaching private art classes, hosting paint workshops, creating artwork, and selling her artwork from her micro studio in Langford at the Langford Station Cultural District. She was able to lease a temporary space there for a timeframe of 1.5 years and is enjoying this very much. You can find her there from Thursday until Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from May 2022 until February 2024.


She has also designed a mural for the City of Langford alongside 12 other murals created by Vancouver Island artists. These murals are worth a visit for sure! Address: The Langford Station Cultural District, 702 Station Avenue, Langford. Hope to see you there!
