DANNY AMATO INSPIRATION

Describe your creative process and how you go about starting and completing a finished piece.

My vision for a watercolor painting begins with a personal experience that is surrounded by nature. It may be a seagull flying in front of a cloud or a surfer gliding across an ocean wave. A friend is tying their surfboard back on top of the car and there is the sound of driftwood being stacked next to a campfire. A maple leaf is cast by the wind to land on my sketchbook.

With these moments of magic I then interpret onto paper through the expression of colorful pigments.
The gull continues to soar along the canvas, its wingtips become the paintbrush. The surfer goes on sailing over the sea, empowered by cosmic forces and reclaimed by a pencil drawing. The forest and the beach have created a story, a dream transformed onto a canvas.

What are you most inspired by and how is this reflected in your work?

A lot of my Art inspiration emerges from other Pacific Northwest Nature Artists & my close friends that are expressive in many shapes and forms.

What are your artistic goals and how does your work contribute to your community?

I thrive to see my creations influence other positive people in random places around the Island & one day on this whole globe.
